Parents' and carers' code of conduct

Parents and carers agree to this code when they register a junior. It helps every child enjoy their cricket and stay safe.

Supporting your child

• Encourage your child, whatever the result, and let them enjoy the game.
• Applaud good play by both sides.
• Leave the coaching to the coaches and the decisions to the umpires.
• Never shout at, criticise or embarrass a child, whether yours or someone else's.

Keeping everyone safe

• Tell the club about any medical condition, allergy or medication, and keep it up to date in your account.
• Make sure your child has the right kit, including a helmet for batting and keeping wicket.
• Drop off and collect your child on time, and let the coach know if someone else is collecting them.
• Transport to and from games is your responsibility, as the ECB advises. Agree any lift-sharing between families yourselves.
• Tell the Club Safeguarding Officer straight away if anything worries you about your child's welfare, or another child's.

Being part of the club

• Reply to availability requests for your child so coaches can plan.
• Pay subscriptions, match fees and training fees on time. If cost is a worry, talk to the Treasurer in confidence.
• Respect the volunteers who run junior cricket. Every coach, manager and helper gives their time for free.
• Follow the club's policies on photos and social media. Don't post pictures of other people's children without their parents' permission.
